En una cueva sin fin, Desesperado lucha contra una fuerza invisible que le impide avanzar en su camino. Trata de alcanzar su testigo, que está tirado en el suelo a escasos metros de él, pero es en vano. Derrotado, se resigna y se sienta a esperar su final; sabe que cuando el gris de su pierna impregne el resto de su cuerpo, se convertirá en figura de piedra, hasta acabar desapareciendo. De pronto, aparecen dos desconocidos, Ausente y su padre Piadoso, que le ayudarán a continuar su travesía y le aportarán una ilusión que ya creía perdida para siempre.

In an endless cave, Desesperado fights against an invisible force that prevents him from advancing in his path. He tries to reach his baton, which is lying on the ground a few metres away from him, out of his reach. Defeated, he resigns himself and sits down to await his end; he knows that when the grey stain in his leg spreads through the rest of his body, he will become a stone figure, until he disappears. Suddenly, two strangers arrive. They are Ausente and his father Piadoso, who will help him continue his journey and find the hope he thought he had lost forever.
